This sledge fits underneath and is designed to attach to most active mattresses. Unlike other versions, it contains a high density foam base so in the event of an evacuation, the air mattress is deflated by opening the cpr valves and disconnecting from the air pump. The sledge then cocoons the service user and allows evacuation to proceed.

Evacuation of patients on all forms of mattresses may be hindered by exiting through single width doorways or areas of restricted width, and this needs to be considered as part of your risk assessment.
